What amounted to a bifurcation of the site involved a bit of work. The back-end was actually one of the easier aspects given the amazing work our engineers did building the platform and CMS a couple years prior. The user-interface, however, was an immense challenge, as one might imagine. I saw this as an opportunity to improve the user experience across the site, making it as easy as possible for users to find the content they were looking for. There were three primary methods used to do this: contextual navigation (exposing menus to users in places they attempt to find content), hierarchical global navigation (robust drop-down menus), and an intuitive search tool utilizing categorized results. The image below reflects the standard, default view all visitors would see unless they set theĀ AdrenalineĀ view as their preference.

Ultimately, the decision to bifurcate the site was abandoned, but many of the UI concepts from this project were incorporated into the site, with much success.
