Finger sketching on the iPhone again.
Dave McKean is undoubtedly one of my favorite artists. I can’t think of a single individual who has inspired me more, be it his illustrations, graphic design work, photography, films, or stories. I could be happy if I had only 1% of his talent…
This is quite long, but if you can, watch the first seven minutes or so.

Here are some beautiful examples of functional industrial design masquerading as fine art. Although, I imagine wear and tear would be a big problem.

Case in point:

Nothing too great, just my first ‘finger’ sketch on the iPhone using SketchBook Express from Autodesk.
Maybe it’s my love of black and orange, or maybe it’s my love for Saul Bass style design, or maybe both, but I love these movie posters for the Rolling Road Show! (Just click image to embiggen.) I need to find out who designed them. Better yet, I need to find out where to get copies of them!
Note: I didn’t include the poster for the Godfather, simply because I didn’t really like it, nor the Red Dawn poster, which wasn’t even close to the same style.
I’m pretty excited at the possibilities of the Tab Candy feature Aza Raskin and team are working on for Firefox. In a word, I think it’s tabulous (corny, I know). Read more
